Two TPS Schools Win “U.S. News Best” Award

Just as both schools did last year, Toledo Early College and Toledo Technology Academy of Engineering have achieved the status of a “U.S. News Best High School” by U.S. News and World Report.

More than 700 high schools in Ohio and more than 17,000 high schools across the nation were ranked using the following criteria:

• Performance on state-required testing
• Graduation rates
• How well the school prepares students for college

Both schools finished in the top five percent in the state and nationwide in the State
Assessment Performance Ranking.

Toledo Early College Wins U.S. News Award!

U.S. News and World Report has released its 2023-24 Best High Schools rankings, and Toledo Early College achieved a status as a U.S. News Best High School and is eligible to display a U.S. News-trademarked award badge.

The school’s State Assessment Performance ranking is 15 out of 741 schools in Ohio (top 2 percent), and 303 out of 17,680 schools nationwide (top 2 percent).

According to the report, the State Assessment Performance ranking is how aggregated scores on state assessments compare with U.S. News’ expectations given the proportions of students who are Black, Hispanic and from low-income households.
