Author R. Gregory Christie visits Rosa Parks

Author and illustrator R. Gregory Christie came by as special guest at Rosa Parks Elementary for its Claire’s Day event, held in the school library.

Mr. Christie spent time reading and speaking with children to focus on how he became an author and the importance of reading as a foundation of education.

Claire’s Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators and reading, with children book festivals being held in Toledo and Maumee in May of this year.

During the event at Rosa Parks Elementary more than a dozen students were recognized for improving their reading skills during the school year.
