Bob Carson

Robert Carson, born in 1929, was an All-State halfback and football co-captain at Waite High School.  He continued playing football at Purdue University as the quarterback before transferring to Toledo University where he completed his last two years as co-quarterback for the team.

Carson graduated from TU with a degree in counseling and educational administration. He spent nearly 60 years in education and community service, holding many titles, including executive director of Pupil Service for TPS, overseeing Special Education needs; executive director of the Lucas County Children's Service Board; superintendent of the Miami Children's Home; and director of development for Toledo Christian Schools.

Also instrumental in Waite High School's Perpetuating the Dream campaign to renovateMollenkopf Stadium in 2007, Carson was inducted into the Waite High School Athletic Hall of Fame and the Toledo City Athletic Hall of Fame. Robert Carson passed away in 2016.
