Neoma Copic

Neoma Copic was the winner of the first Ohio women’s public links championship in 1939. Copic was born in 1917 and began a lifelong love of golf at age 12. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1935. For 50 years, she continued to add titles and wins on the greens including the 1941 Ohio State Championship; the Ohio State Public Links championship; 3 Toledo Women's District Golf Association (TWDGA) titles; 2 TWDGA Senior Championships, and a State Senior Championship. She was also one of the top 16 golfers in the U.S. during the 1940s.

Copic was inducted into the Toledo Hall of Fame in 1962 and the DeVilbiss Hall of Fame in 1996. Pressured to turn professional, she prioritized her family over her passion.  Copic was a lifetime member of the Toledo Women’s District Golf Association and the Toledo Golf Club. She married Edward Guerin in 1965 and passed away in 2007. She is pictured on the right.
