Two students from Scott High School and two from Waite High School are among the finalists for 2015 Chuck Ealey Undefeated Spirit Foundation scholarships.
Dre'Yonna Johnson of Scott and Ramiyah Henry of Waite are finalists for a $500 scholarship being given to a female basketball player while Dakari Adams of Scott and Jeremy Pratt of Waite are finalists for a $500 scholarship for a football player. There are a total of 10 finalists vying for the two scholarships that will be awarded during a ceremony on Tuesday, March 24, at 6 p.m. at the University of Toledo's Driscoll Alumni Center.
The awards are given by Mr. Ealey through his Undefeated Spirit Foundation. The former University of Toledo standout and CFL football star gives back to the community by awarding 15 scholarships (ranging from $125 to $500) to deserving area high school seniors. The basketball and football finalists were chosen based on the following criteria:
- An undefeated spirit inspiring drive and leadership with their teammates, campus, community and/or youth;
- Strong family values with strong family support - encouraging and supporting parent/family structure behind the athlete;
- Strong focus on education and community/campus involvement - good grades and extracurriculuar activities.
Congratulations and best wishes to all of our TPS athletes.
