School leaders and the Parent Teacher Organization at Scott High School hosted a ‘Toast & Ties’ event for fathers, father figures and community mentors of the young men at the high school, 2400 Collingwood Blvd.

The PTO and school officials solicited donations for a suit raffle and collected ties. During the event, the male students learned how to tie a bow tie and a basic neck tie. Lawrence Burns, the University of Toledo’s vice president for external affairs known for his wild bow ties, spoke to the young men about developing their own personal brand and how to dress for success. A few of the lucky students received special UT bow ties.

The female students at the school weren't forgotten. They had Muffins with Moms and learned about etiquette.
