The FeMale Robotics team at Robinson Elementary recently competed in the 14th Annual FIRST Lego League (FLL) regional tournament at Toledo Technology Academy.

This all-female team of students in grades 6th through 8th won the presentation trophy and will be representing Northwest Ohio at the District Qualifier competition on January 9.

According to Cynthia Madanski, the team built and programmed an autonomous robot, researched a Trash Trek problem and designed an innovative solution "and incorporated the FIRST Lego League core values of Gracious, Professionalism and Coopertition throughout the season."

She added, "Good luck to these smart and fabulous girls as they continue their winning season."

A dedicated group of volunteers helped TTA put on the 14th Annual FIRST Lego League (FLL) Regional Tournament on Saturday, December 5, in which 26 teams (many from TPS schools) competed.  As organizer Dale Price says, "FIRST events are part STEM, part pep rally, part science fair, part dance party and 100% fun!"
