Toledo Public Schools CEO/Superintendent Romules Durant was recenlyl tapped to serve as the grand marshal of The Blade's Holiday Parade.

Dr. Durant and a large contigent of TPS Proud employees and their families enjoyed the parade, which was held on Saturday, November 14.

“The holidays bring out the best in everyone and the annual parade is a great family event that is sure to bring smiles and lasting memories," said Dr. Durant, an East Toledo native.  "I’m proud to be this year’s grand marshal.”

This year’s parade featured 75 participating organizations and attracted 15,000 spectators.  A record number of high school bands marched, including those from Bowsher, Scott and Start high schools.  Members of the Rogers High School band operated one of the oversized balloons in the parade. Santa Claus anchored the parade and then visited with children at Imagination Station.

The parade was presented by Taylor Automotive Family. It will be broadcast on Buckeye CableSystem Community Channel 69 at noon on Nov. 21 and Thanksgiving Day, at 3 p.m. on Nov. 27, at 2 p.m. on Dec. 8, at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and at 3 p.m. on Christmas.
