With an estimated 93 percent of students between the ages of 12 and 17 online, learning how to use technology safely is a top concern of Toledo Public Schools officials.
That’s why they welcomed an invitation from Google to bring its Online Safety Roadshow to Byrnedale Elementary, 3635 Glendale Ave., on Friday, September 18.
The ‘show’ is an Internet safety assembly that encourages middle school students to be smart about the content they share online. Called the ‘driver’s ed for the web’ by educators, this assembly focuses on important skills for navigating the Internet.
The Byrnedale 6th, 7th and 8th graders will be joined at their 1:15 p.m. assembly by U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, who is a strong advocate of Internet safety.
