We know there are questions about the recent wage re-opener negotiations between the district and its unions. We want to make sure that the community has access to accurate information and answers to their questions.
Employees in the district's three unions - TAAP, TFT and AFSCME - will, on average, receive a 4.6% pay increase. Individual employee raises within each bargaining unit will differ, however, because of union-negotiated salary scales that take into consideration years of service. Please see below for comparisons that illustrate the breakdown of increases for each union. It must be noted that the original fact finder report recommended that TFT members get less than TAAP members. Attorneys for the Board of Education reached out to TFT attorneys on Friday, July 10, 2015, saying that a resolution was going to be put forth that added .5 percent to the compensation package. That resolution was passed on Monday, July 13, 2015 and means that all Toledo Public Schools employees will be getting the same average raise.
Below, please find a copy of the current salary schedule for TFT members and examples of how the new increase will impact employees at different levels on the salary scale. You will also find links to the fact finder reports for TFT and TAAP, as well as the Board resolutions that were approved on Monday, July 13, 2015.
