Grove Patterson Academy is hosting a Safe Routes to School Bicycle Fix-it and Safety Program on Friday, May 1.
This program provides students the opportunity to bring their bicycle to school and have a safety check completed along with minor repairs by staff and volunteers from Toledo Bikes. Bicycles will be serviced on a first-come, first serve basis.
Staff and volunteers from Safe Routes to School will also be available to check students’ bike helmets for proper fitting and to provide basic bicycle safety education.
Bikes cannot be dropped off at the school prior to the event. They must be brought to school at dismissal. Those planning to participate should park in the library parking lot and walk over or there will be parking in the school's lot after the buses have been dismissed.
The event at Grove Patterson, 3020 Marvin Ave., will be held from 2:30-5:30 p.m.
Families with students who live within biking distance of Grove Patterson are being encouraged to participate in National Bike to School Day on Wednesday, May 6.
