The Toledo Public Schools' Board of Education is seeking applications from the community to fill the vacancy created when Dr. Cecelia Adams was appointed this week to Toledo City Council.

State law requires that a vacancy must be filled at the Board’s next regular or special meeting, not earlier than 10 days after the vacancy occurs.

Interested applicants must live within the TPS district, be 18 or older and be a registered voter.

Anyone interested in applying must submit a letter stating his or her interest and a current resume before 4 p.m. Monday, April 20, to the attention of Matt Cleland, Treasurer. Applications may be dropped off at or mailed to: Toledo Public Schools, Treasurer’s Office, Thurgood Marshall Building, 420 E. Manhattan Blvd., Toledo, Ohio, 43608. Applications may also be emailed to mcleland@tps.org. The Board plans to hold the following special meetings:
• 4/21/15 at 5 PM - To review resumes
• 4/26/15 at 4 PM - To interview applicants in executive session
• 4/27/15 at 7 AM - To conduct 2nd interviews (if necessary; also to be held in executive session)

The appointment will be made at the regular monthly board meeting scheduled for 5:30 PM on Tuesday, April 28.
