An informational meeting about the state of Ohio's new standardized testing was held on March 25 at Grove Patterson Academy.
PARCC stands for Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers. It is a coalition of states working to create and deploy a standard set of K-12 assessments in Math and English. The AIR designation stands for American Institutes for Research, the assessment company hired by the Ohio Department of Education to create Ohio’s Science and Social Studies state assessments.
At the meeting at Grove Patterson, those in atterndance learned how TPS prepared for the tests; the consequences on a school district if a student does not take a test; the state mandates surrounding standardized tests and the impact testing has on students. This meeting was sponsored by Partners in Education and the newly-formed Parent University.
